The sacred island of Apollo, Delos had an economic and religious influence at its peak in the sixth century BC. Uninhabited for centuries, today it is an arid land with little vegetation. What still thrives there is the Flowers of Capers growing around the base of Fig Trees. They reign discreetly in the mineral rich soil of the place as animal hides are heated by the burning sun.
