Let us set the scene: You're on a sailboat in the Mediterranean. The wood is freshly lacquered, the water is blinding, you've been wrangling the sails for hours before gliding into a sheltered cove. Once the anchor is dropped you can lean back and open a bottle of wine.
The bright citrus (orange, lemon, and grapefruit), plays off the Elemi and Calone so beautifully here. There's something grounding, woody, and dry, about the vetiver/cedar/coumarin combo in the base that really places you on a vessel in the sea. This doesn't feel like standing at the shore, it doesn't have the pungent smell of ocean water evaporating off hot sand, it truly captures that middle-of-the-ocean feeling.
